Buffalo Beer Festival '99

May 7 - 8, 1999 - Buffalo, New York, USA

The Buffalo Convention Center plays host to this long-standing upper New York state beer event which will this year feature some forty or more local, regional, national and international breweries. Tickets are $20 and details are available from Kevin Townsell at 716-839-0002 or shannonpub@aol.com. (I may see you there on Friday night!)

2nd Annual San Diego Real Ale Festival

May 14 - 15, 1999 - Carlsbad, California, USA

This event for west coast real ale lovers will be the largest cask-conditioned ale sampling in the U.S. this year, as the Chicago Real Ale Fest is taking a time-out in 1999 in order to return in the spring of 2000. The fest will showcase over 40 cask ales from more than 30 U.S. breweries. Contact Tomme Arthur or Tom Nickel at 619-481-7332 or Brewboy1@aol.com for more information.

6th Ripon Beer Festival

MAY 28-30, 1999 - Ripon, England

A modest fest, but what looks like a good one for people tired of trying to navigate through seas of people and seemingly unlimited casks of ale. More than 25 ales will be available; entrance is a modest £3 (£2 Sunday) and includes a tasting glass and 2 free beer tokens for CAMRA members. Further info comes from Brian at 01423 872528.
