G8 Beer Promo Possibilities?

June 25, 2002 -- Just in from the west coast side of my family is word of a recent arrival on the British Columbia Brewing scene. My sister, Cathy Beaumont, and her husband, Shawn Laari, were in the BC interior this past weekend checking out a Harley Davidson fest when they discovered the Cannery Brewing Company.

Based in Penticton, the Cannery reportedly purchased the equipment of the defunct Wildhorse Brewing Company and have been in business for about a year. According to Cathy and Shawn, they are brewing four ales: Giant's Head Gold Canadian Ale, Naramata Nut Brown Ale, Skaha Bluffs Light Blonde Ale and Anarchist Amber Ale.

Hmmm, Anarchist Amber Ale. Since Penticton isn't that far from Kananaskis, where the G8 Summit is due to be held shortly amid the expected storm of protest, do we see promotional possibilities on the Horizon for the Cannery?
