Suspect Rum in Canada

Bacardi Canada and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency have issued a notice advising consumers not to drink Bacardi 1873 Rum. The advisory relates to a report of temporary illness from a consumer who partook of one of the listed bottles of rum.
Listed in the notice are bottles of Bacardi 1873 Rum in the following sizes and bearing the following codes, which were distributed only in Canada:
- 1.14 litre bottles, all codes starting with 34;
- 750 ml bottles, all codes starting with 40, 43, 115 and 118.
The codes are printed on the backs of the bottles. Consumers are advised to return these products to their local liquor retailer for exchange or refund.
