Fifth Annual Holiday Ale Festival

Location: Pioneer Courthouse Square

The Holiday Ale Festival presents a variety of seasonal winter ales from 24 of the region's premier craft breweries. A Year 2000 souvenir mug, required for tasting beer, is $3. Mugs from prior years will not be accepted. A 14-ounce mug of beer costs $3; a taster costs $1. Attendees can meet the brewers on Friday and Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m.

Hours: 4-10 p.m. on Friday; 11 a.m.-10 p.m. on Saturday; noon-6 p.m. on Sunday

Kerstbierfestival

Location: Parish center Essen-statie

All Belgian Christmas Beers, Largest Christmas Beer festival in Belgium, 5 beers on draught, food with x-mas beer. tasting in 15 cl glasses.

"Beers of Christmas Present" and Pre-Solstice Party

Location: Four Points by Sheraton at LAX, 9750 Airport Blvd

If you missed last month's tasting you do not want to see the list of beers everyone drank without you. Along with Celebration from Sierra Nevada, Alesmith's Yulesmith and Anchor's Christmas Ale, which will all be on draft at the Hotel, there will be find more submissions from the great local brewers as well as some other holiday masterpieces from farther afoot.

A portion of the proceeds going to benefit the Children Affected by Aids Foundation. Parking is free and raffle gifts abound.
