Toronado Barley Wine Festival 2003

Certainly one of the first and finest barley wine events...and if you want a barley wine epiphany, head to Toronado for 30-40 barley wines on tap! Who will be top dog in 2003? Hours: 11:30 AM to 2:00 AM Daily

February 19, 2003 - Los Angeles, California, USA

Beaumont and Vintage Barley Wines

Location: Four Points Sheraton LAX, 9750 Airport Boulevard After a year off, I'm returning to the Four Points by the airport in Los Angeles for a tasting of barley wines. This time, though, we're concentrating on vintage editions of these monsters of the beer world. If you've ever wondered what 'old beer' tastes like, this is your chance to find out.

Organization: Four Points by Sheraton LAX

March 27, 2003 - Chicago, Illinois, USA

WhiskyFest Chicago

Location: Hyatt Regency on Wacker Drive

We're making an exception to our 'same month only' policy of event listings because this is a sure sell-out. The third annual WhiskyFest Chicago, the biggest independent whisky event in the U.S., will feature more than 200 of the world's finest and rarest whiskies, including the finest single malt and blended Scotch whiskies, the best bourbons and Tennessee whiskeys, top of the line Irish whiskeys, and the best from Canada. Ten entertaining distillery managers and master blenders will be giving seminars too! A gourmet buffet and Scottish crystal nosing glass are all included in the price. The focus is on education, and distillery representatives will be on hand at the pouring booths to explain how the whiskies are made.

Hours: 6:30 - 10:00pm
Admission: $75
Organization: Malt Advocate Magazine
