I would like to ask your advice. I subscribed to the Michael JacksonWorld Beer Tour, only to find out that residents of Georgia are prohibited by law to receive shipments of beer. Do you know of any groups or organizations lobbying to get these archaic state laws changed?

Lobbyists are in constant motion around state legislatures, and beer lobbyists are always among them. To find out who is working to change the Georgia law that vexes you, I would suggest that you contact the administrators of the Michael JacksonWorld Beer Tour and communicate your concerns to them.
Hello Stephen,
You might be interested to know that the Bud versus Buvar battle is also underway here in New Zealand.
Last week I received a call from lawyers in Wellington (acting on behalf of Budejovicky Budvar), asking me to give my views on the likelihood of Kiwi drinkers not being able to differentiate between the two beers. I have been asked to give a statement and possibly to conduct a taste-off between the two beers - that should be fun!!
I'll keep you posted.

Thanks for the info. I can't wait to hear the results of your taste-off, if it indeed comes to pass, and would love to reproduce them in World of Beer (if you would be agreeable to the idea). Please keep in touch and let me know what happens with that.
Re: Oregon Brewers Festival Tasting Notes
I tried 17 beers on Saturday, so the last ones my be somewhat blurred. I liked Bear Republic's Red Rocket Ale, over the top hop flavor, and a long lasting aftertaste. Do not waste taste buds on Caldera Dry Hop Red, flat and boring. Others that I liked were: Jefferson State Brewing - Brother Johnathan, Stone Mountain's Arrogant Bastard Ale. The rest were some of the ones you tried. Your reviews on those beers were mixed. I enjoy hopped ales and tried mostly those. Prost!

Thanks for your OBF notes. It was indeed a good fest this year.
I am very glad to finally see a serious, professional website for beer, with a huge wealth of global information too.

Thanks for the compliments. Would it be presumptuous to expect that you perhaps enjoyed the beer and cigar story the most?
