(Regarding December's Feature) This was exactly what I was looking for in an article to describe the most uniquely tasting brew of this time. It encourages people to reach out to call themselves "true brew" aficionados. Excellent!
Thank you, Laurel. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I am a Guinness & Budweiser drinker. On New Year Eve just gone I was in Charlie Chaplins Pub in Limerick city. I had 3 pints of Bud all from the same tap & all 3 pints were good. The next pint of Bud I got was from a different tap & it was undrinkable. I asked to get the pint changed & explained about getting the bad pint from a different tap. The barman refused to change the pint. I asked for the manager & he also refused to change the pint, saying that no one else complained & it wasn't the start of a barrel. As it was new years eve I ordered another pint of Bud & told the barman to take it from the first tap. Again this pint was ok. I asked the manager to taste the 2 pints to compare but he wouldn't & I ended up paying for the pint. I asked the manager for his name & left the bar. As a result of this it has left me with no taste for Guinness or Budweiser unless the issue can be resolved.

I'd have to guess here that your complaint is with the pub rather than the brewery. It sounds like the problem was with the draught line, and you are quite right in suggesting that the barman or at least the manager should have fixed the problem. I doubt there was something wrong with the keg, though.
Although even so, if you do want to continue avoiding Guinness and Bud, you might find yourself enjoying the ales of the Biddy Early brewery, which are available at Brulees or Rustico Bistro in Limerick City, or those of one of Ireland's other fine, small, craft breweries.
Pls keep me informed bout all upcoming beer event/festivals.
