Have just read your slating of the low carb products. Whilst I agree they do not have the biggest of tastes, having diabetes makes them quite attractive to me.
You should realise that there are several people out there who can drink these products without further damaging their health, so these products must be a bonus. Possibly you would like to reflect some of the benefits in your articles. Maybe this would help to reduce the waistline of our fat American cousins. (Yes, I have been to the USA recently!)

There is a German style of pilsner, now sadly underproduced, called dïat pils, which was originally developed for diabetics. The main feature of a dïat pils is a very low amount of residual sugar, the result of a tightly controlled fermentation, but not one example of the style I have tasted has sacrificed flavour to get there. Conversely, every low-carb beer I've sampled thus far has coupled fewer carbohydrates with virtually non-existent taste.
Perhaps it's time for a dïat pils revival?
I went to Myrtle Beach Bike Week and PBR was everywhere for $1. Crazy!

And therein lies the secret to Pabst Blue Ribbon's media-anointed 'hipness:' It's not about the beer, it's about the price.
I am a beer lover, homebrewer and aspiring professional brewer. I will be attending the American Brewers Guild beginning in July 2004. The more beer information I can get, the better.
