Hello Stephen,
I had the pleasure of listening to you this morning on The Splendid Table. I am a fellow Canadian living in Minnesota and I was interested in your discussion about the small breweries around N. America. We have in the Twin Cities, a mile from our home, a fabulous local brew pub called Barley Johns (New Brighton, Minnesota). If you ever come this way be sure to check them out - they are making some amazing bourbon brews similar to what you mentioned today - one is called The Black Night. They also have an interesting wild rice beer and a smashing porter. It's a small local place with the best beer I've ever tasted!!!
Cheers

Thanks for your email and heads-up re: Barley John's. I'll keep it in mind the next time I head the Twin Cities' way.

I am trying to get hold of Everest Beer in the UK. I had it in Nepal - it's brewed in Katmandu I think - and I was wondering whether anyone sells it in the UK? Thanks
- Ginny Sutcliffe
I don't know if it is brought into the U.K. or not, but I'd suggest that a good way to find out would be to call a local Nepalese restaurant and ask if they stock it. Good hunting!
I recently went on a trip to Paris and fell in love with Desperados. I noticed that in the past you have fielded questions about the availability of Desperados in the USA. I was wondering if there had been any progress made in this area. If there is any way I could get some Desperados in the US, I would love to be able to do so.

Sorry, but I haven't heard anything further about bringing Desperados to the U.S.
