Mr. Beaumont,
I spent last summer in Paris and had two months full of drinking great French beer, mainly Kronenbourg. After turning 21 a couple months ago, I began a search for Kronenbourg in the U.S. I have found 1664 all over the place, but I have had no luck with original Kronenbourg (sometimes just called Kro). I have contacted the Kronenbourg Brasseries in Strasbourg, France, but I have received no reply. Do you have any tips on a place in this country to try? Price is not that big of a barrier...I just want my Kronenbourg! =)
Thanks so much for your help on this...keep up the great website!
Sincerely,
Gretchen Wieland
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, Gretchen, but I've been asking and searching around for evidence of Kro in the U.S. and it appears that the regular Kronenbourg is sold nowhere outside of France.
I was in Egypt on a tour and Nile cruise in 1985. We were encouraged to not drink the water (read: ICE), so we all opted for bottled beer. Well, it seems that the "National Beer" (ONLY BEER) was Stella. It came in what seemed like 20 oz bottles and all on the tour LOVED it. When I got back to Florida my wife wanted to surprise me for X-Mas 1985 and tried to buy a few cases. It seems that the brewing process, OR the bottle size prevented this beer from being imported here. Also, Stella was definitely NOT an N/A Beer.
Best,
Jim Hays
As I've noted in the past, Jim, I expect that it is the very large presence of the flagship brand of the world's largest brewing company, Stella Artois from InBev, that keeps the Egyptian Stella away.
To Whom It May Concern:
I had a Val-Dieu Triple and it got me awful f***in' sick there, Charlie. Can I get a rebate on that?
Yours Truly,
Danger
Well, first off, Danger, you're probably wanting the Florida beer store with the similar name. This ain't it. And secondly, I suspect it was the quantity of whatever you drank, or perhaps a stomach bug of some sort, that made you sick, not the beer.
