Do you know if Guinness Red is available in the USA yet, or if it ever will be? Thanks!
- Harmony Cleary
To my knowledge, Guinness Red is still available exclusively in the U.K. There may well be plans to launch it stateside at some point, but Diageo isn't saying anything about them at present.
Steve:
I just received a pint bottle of Sam Thompson Old Monongahela Pure Rye Whiskey in its original box. The box is marked for MEDICINAL PURPOSES ONLY. I also have a pint bottle of Old Taylor Spiritus Frumenti in its original box marked the same as above.
I read the article you wrote back in 2002 regarding the Sam Thompson Rye and was wondering if these above items have any monetary value? Thanks
- Shirley
While I suspect that both those bottles will have value to enthusiasts, Shirley, I must confess I have no idea of what that value might be. There is, however, a very good forum over at straightbourbon.com where the denizens might be able to give you better advice than can I.
Mr. Beaumont, I like to receive your Beer Update! Thanks.
- Luis Gustavo Coutinho
Ah yes, the Update. Well, Luis, and all you other World of Beer Update signees, I must confess that other writing pressures have limited the appearance of the Update rather severely of late. In fact, I've barely written more than a few over the course of the last two or three years.
The plan, for 2008 however, includes a complete redesign of World of Beer, which will also hopefully do something to address the moribund status of the Update. What precisely that will entail I don not know, but until that time, I promise to make an effort to get a few more sent out in the new year.
